Areas of application
Fuel gas is used as a source of energy for operating gas turbines which are used to drive generators and turbocompressors.
- Oil & gas (offshore / onshore)
Gas turbine for driving the turbocompressor / generator
- Small power stations
Gas turbine for driving the generator in order to generate electricity
Challenge
In order to function at their best, fuel gas systems require clean and dry gases. However, the fuel gas is often not pre-filtered adequately or even at all, meaning that solids and aerosols can make their way into the combustion system. This leads to increased wear and tear of components and results in expensive maintenance and repair work. Components such as injection nozzles, turbine blades and valves are particularly affected by this. Damage to turbine blades can quickly result in loss of efficiency and cost up to millions of dollars.
HYDAC solution
The new HYDAC Fuel Gas Filter FGF provides effective protection for these valuable system components. It stands out thanks to its robust design and high-quality filter element technology. The FGF can optionally be fitted with a HYDAC GCS (Gas Cyclone Separator) which acts as a pre- separator and filters out fine aerosol droplets (> 3 µm) and sludges. A HYDAC GCF (Gas Coalescer Filter) is provided for main filtration and takes care of the finer aerosol droplets (from 0.3 µm).
